January 11-15

This week students focused on rocks, learning to better identify them using vocabulary terms that scientists in the field would use.

1/11 - Students completed notes on sedimentary rocks
There is a rock word-search that students can complete for extra credit, due 1/19.

1/12 - Students completed the notes on metamorphic rocks.

1/13 - Students worked on becoming experts on 4 of the rock vocabulary terms.

1/14 - Students learned from other students about several rock vocabulary words. The rock vocabulary review worksheet is due 1/15 at the start of class.

1/15 - Students learned about the rock cycle, and then had the opportunity to choose a rock and make a cartoon discussing what could happen to their rock over time. Cartoons are due Tuesday 1/19
