The 2nd Trimester arrives!

Welcome students to Trimester 2 of Earth Science. I look forward to learning together with you! Over the next couple of months, we'll be learning about Plate Tectonics, Minerals, Rocks, Fossils and Geologic time.

Activities for the week of December 6th include:

Tuesday - 12/06
In Class: review expectations for lab safety and classroom behavior
Activity/Homework for Wednesday: Illustrate one of the lab safety rules, either displaying what you should or should not do.

Wednesday - 12/07
Viscosity and Types of Magma Lab In Class
Homework: Summarize lab activity by answering the following questions:

Complete Questions 5-10 on the Green Volcano Chapter Review and Wrap-up sheet for Friday

Thursday - 12/08
In Class:
Plotting currently active volcanoes (5 locations)
Activity/Homework: Worksheet:Identifying types of Volcanoes Due Friday

Friday - 12/09
In Class, Demonstration - volcanic eruptions, discussion -Experiencing Natural Disasters
Virtual explorations of Earthquakes in Haiti, Japan, and Turkey
Virtual Volcano Tour to Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius.

The volcanoes unit quiz will be next Thursday December 15th.
